Common questions
How do I set up?
Rest your phone on a cup or a stack of books, about 25 cm above the paper, camera facing down. Move the picture into place: drag to move, pinch to resize, twist to turn. Then tap Lock.
How do I unlock the picture?
Hold the lock button.
The picture moved away from my lines.
Move your hand out of the way and tap the target button at the top (Re-align). The picture finds your pencil lines and lines up with them again. If you haven’t drawn anything yet, draw a few lines first.
My paper is on an easel or an uneven table.
Unlock, tap Corners and drag the four dots onto the corners of your paper.
BooTrace says it needs the camera.
Open Settings, find BooTrace and turn on Camera. If another app is using the camera, close it and BooTrace comes back on its own.
I can’t save to Photos.
Open Settings, find BooTrace, tap Photos and allow adding photos. BooTrace only adds; it never reads your library.
Clean outline isn’t available on my iPhone.
Clean outline can’t run on every iPhone. Photo and Outline always work, and they are free.
How do I restore BooTrace Pro?
Open any Pro drawing and tap Restore purchase. Pro is a one time purchase tied to your Apple Account, and it can be shared with Family Sharing.
It says “Waiting for approval”.
Your family uses Ask to Buy. Pro unlocks as soon as the organizer approves the purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
